San Luis, Arizona – The Public Is Invited To Attend The Swearing-In Ceremony For Former Vice Mayor Gerardo Sanchez, As San Luis’ Newly Appointed Mayor.
Gerardo Sanchez will be sworn in as the City of San Luis’ mayor. He replaces Mayor Juan Carlos Escamilla, who resigned effective May 2, 2012, to run for State Representative in District 4.
As City Councilman and Vice Mayor, Mr. Sanchez has worked diligently over the past four years to create a vibrant San Luis that an ever-increasing population calls home. He has had experience in the community building and firmly believes that citizen participation and collaboration among diverse community groups are vital to creating a brighter future for the City of San Luis. Economic development, the reconfiguration of the San Luis Port of Entry 1, workforce training, and public safety will be among his priorities during his tenure as mayor.
