The Public Works Department consists of 4 divisions: Street Division, Solid Waste Division, Water Division, and Wastewater Division. Public Works Department provides maintenance service to the City of San Luis roads, water and sewer lines as well as providing safe portable water to residents and garbage service.

The Streets Division, also, known as Highway Users, provides general maintenance and repair of all City streets and signs to facilitate the general public's movement in a safe and orderly manner. Crews respond to after hour calls for service, removal of graffiti, install new and maintain existing roadway signs and markings.

The Solid Waste Division provides to its residential and commercial community garbage collection services. Fees and arrangements for special pick-ups and steam cleaning containers can be made by calling the office.
